The Pyrenees Mountains and the Garonne River are in the southwest portion of France.
We can take the king to be the leader of a nation – a president would be a king to Nostradamus. But to this point, I do not think it has happened yet. Foreign aid did occur during the two world wars, but the area was not around the Pyrenees Mountains. And the only time this region became active, the British were involved against the French. Louis XVIII had not yet been crowned, so he was not yet a king and could not be called the new king.
I am of the firm opinion that this refers to the future.
En l’an cinq cens octante plus & moins,

Rarely does Nostradamus leave in dates, so this gives us a chance to verify with exactness. Though not all the quatrains with dates happened as he wrote them, many did. This is one of those that happened exactly as Nostradamus wrote it. In the year 1580 (Nostradamus never gives the millennium number and often leaves off the century number) Europe was convulsing under the fury of the Catholic - Protestant wars. France was undergoing the Religious Wars. Spain and Portugal were crushed under the Inquisition. Germany was breaking apart between Catholic and Protestant. Scotland, Ireland, Poland, Italy, the Austrian Empire, all these nations were harmed in some way. Only England and Russia escaped unscathed; England because it had already suffered under Mary I (Bloody Mary) and Russia because it was under the yoke of Ivan the Dread. Moving forward to the other year mention, 1703, and France was defying all of Europe in the War of the Spanish Succession. The war, which ended within a decade of this date, saw the Spanish Empire (the one), which consisted of Spain, the Two Sicily’s, the Spanish Netherlands, Milan and Spanish America (the five), change from Spanish Hapsburg rule to either Austrian Hapsburg or Spanish Bourbon rule.
All in all, one of Nostradamus’ most remarkable successes.

Agrippina (Agrippina the Younger, as she was the daughter of Germanicus and Agrippina the Elder) was the consort of the Emperor Claudius. She was considered to be one of the great beauties of her days. She was also not one of the nicer people there were. She had reportedly poisoned her first two husbands to gain wealth and power, and after marrying Claudius and after spending some time with him, poisoned him so her son, Nero, could assume the throne.
This is a veiled reference to Paris, a city where such backstabbing, poisoning, double-dealing, and other acts all for the sake of gaining power, occurred. With this in mind, the Celtic River is the Seine, the river with flows through the city.
The change was the change of the capital from Paris to Vichy, the only time that Paris was not the capital of France in over ten centuries. All was changed. From Frenchmen striving for France first, there was Marshal Petain and his assistant Laval striving for Germany first. Instead of France standing up to the rest of the world, the French leadership of Vichy bowed and scrapped their heals trying to conform to the wishes of Heir Hitler. Only the French language was not changed.
The last line is interesting. If you try to make it a single astrological configuration, it makes no sense. But, if you take it as two different charts, then it makes perfect sense. Saturn in Leo, in the chart of Hitler, plundered Mars in Cancer, which occurred in the birth sign of the Third French Republic. Things like this make interpreting the quatrain difficult.

This has been one of the most anticipated quatrains ever. Even now, it is not fulfilled, or fully fulfilled. Yet it is beyond a doubt that events are currently in partial agreement with the quatrain. Smarobryn translates into winged seed pod. A league is about 2.2-3.0 miles. So, the third line indicates a winged seed pod between two hundred twenty to three hundred miles above the hemisphere.
The part about the hemisphere could not have possibly even been understood until the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union had begun. Until such space talk commenced, one spoke of the stars and the planets being up there. The distance was measured approximately from the center of the earth. There was no attempt to measure from the surface of the earth. This changed with manned space flight and became exceedingly important with the advent of manned space stations.
Today the International Space Station, which looks similar to a complicated winged seed pod, has being completed. Both the United States and Russia (the successor to the old Soviet Union) support it without qualification. Scientists live up there from many countries for months at a time. And no government tries to force them to support their country. These space voyagers are truly exempt from all politics.
The last two lines have been fulfilled by the International Space Station, but the quatrain has not yet been fulfilled. These lines indicate, and quite strongly a space directed plague hitting the Arctic Pole. The Arctic Pole was not a term that most people in Nostradamus day would have understood, though intellectuals like Nostradamus could, and some would, have understood it. But by the nineteenth century, it was generally understood what the poles were. Please note that Nostradamus said the Arctic as opposed to the Antarctic pole.
We understand the terms Nostradamus heard. We came up with them on our own and use them commonly nowadays. We understand the picture that Nostradamus painted. It looks as though Samarobryn is complete. Whether or not the International Space Station is Samarobryn or a to be built station is what Nostradamus referred to, the time of the fulfillment of this quatrain is nearing.
Beyond a doubt, this refers to the future.
Apparoistra vers le Septentrion,

A comet appears in the north not far from the astronomical constellation of Cancer. Since the constellation is seen towards the north, the comet appearing near there is relatively logical. Susa is an important city in Iraq. Siene, Boetica and Eretria are cities or regions in Italy. Disperue of line 4 is obviously altered to rhyme with chevelue of line 2. I take it to be disperser, which is disperses or scatters.
Norneigre & Dace, & l’isle Britannique,
Par les unis freres feront vexées :
Le chef Romain issu de sang Gallique,
Et les copies aux forestz repoulsees.
Norway is in Scandinavia. Dacia is modern day Romania. The British Isle is Great Britain. Not once have the three been united by a common enemy. Of key note is the Roman leader issued from Gallic blood.
The closest I could find happened in the Second World War. The Roman Leader of line three was Benito Mussolini who was born in Predappio, located in what used to be known as Cisalpine Gaul, so he certainly had Gallic blood. If this is the case, then the two brothers would be Mussolini and Hitler; Nostradamus uses the term broadly to denote status because kings and queens used to call each other brother and sister, even when it was not strictly true. It is also true that armies from both sides were repulsed in forest battles. Finally, it is true that Norway was occupied by Germany and Britain was certainly attacked. My problem is that Romania (Dacia) was allied to Germany and Italy, they certainly were not vexed by the Axis.
Unless one can make a case that Romania suffered because of its alliance to Italy and Germany, an argueable case but one that I think does not apply, this has to refer to the future.

With the exception of the few who supported Robespierre, St. Just, and their ilk, the majority of the learned in France had a terrible time. Before the Revolution, they had been respected and admired. After the Revolution began, they were poor, rejected, even hunted. Many French intellectuals fled, becoming the first émigrés who would be so hated by the French. Many left destitute, having no money. For a while, learning was not valued.
Aux sacres temples seront faicts escandales,
Comprez seront par honneurs & louanges
D’un que on grave d’argent, d’or les medalles,
La fin sera en tormens bien estranges.
This quatrain deals with Napoléon’s relationship with the Catholic Church (the saintly temples). It was scandalous at best, totally corrupt at worst. He captured and imprisoned the pope, yet many bishops and priests could not stop singing Napoléon’s praises. Napoléon’s image was engraved on the money of France during his reign. And, true to line 4, his end was in torment and regret, guarded ceaselessly by the British.

I cannot with certainty tell what the temple of colors are. I think that the four colors mentioned in lines 2 and 3 are the supposed colors of the races of men. The black (African) and white (Caucasian) races are intermixed, which is happening even this day. The yellow (Asiatic) and red (Native American) races do something here; but is it their own colors or the colors of the first two that are taken away? Of course, this is totally hypothetical at this moment.
