The fourth line seems to tie this to the third quatrain of this century. Negrepont literally translates as Euboea, the large Greek isle just to the east of Attica. The third quatrain seems to deal with the future. But the language of this quatrain seems to be the past.
Biremes were oared sailing ships that had two decks of oars. Triremes were similar, only with three decks – they were also more powerful ships. If we apply this to the future, then we are talking about a smaller vessel and a fleet of larger vessels, not real oared ships. Regardless, somebody boards a smaller ship to perform an embassy, but is stopped in the middle of the way by some unknown assailants. A larger fleet goes to Euboea. Just who the four are, I have no idea.

The immersed isle seems to correspond to Britain. Quatrain 93 of the 5th century indicates an Isle of Scotland, that would mean that England has sunk beneath the waves. When one considers the impossibility of this, please recollect that Nostradamus has foreseen space stations, balloons, airplanes, jets, submarines and radio, all that was considered “impossible” in his day. Also, please keep in mind that the surface of the Earth are tectonic plates that shift, there is nothing to stop large parts of England from sinking into the waves, provided the cause is violent enough. See Quatrain 69 of the first century for one possible cause.
It is, of course, impossible to be certain, but I think that Arton fleet would refer to the NATO fleet. If this is true, then what is the Asop army? I cannot tell at this time, but it could be timed with the future Islamic attempt to control the world. If this is true, than the Asop army could be a code for the future name of the Islamic army. And what about the Phalanx? It is true that nowadays a phalanx can represent any army, but this seems to give a Greek flavor to the quatrain.
As of this moment, this is only speculation. I cannot say more with any accuracy.

In French history, there have been several birds that have had a major influence in France. The enemy being pushed back beyond the river strongly indicates the Rhine River though, which would eliminate the Spanish Eagle – Spanish troops being pushed back would be pushed back across the Pyrenees Mountains. Line 1 is also interesting: it indicates that a bird is chasing birds and palaces. This would seem to eliminate Herr Hitler, the German Eagle, who, while he chassed another bird, the French Cock, did not do much chasing of palaces. Besides, he was more successful against the Cock by itself then against the other eagle that he fought, the American Eagle, and he never fought the Spanish Eagle.
This has to refer to Napoléon, the French Eagle, who not only chassed other birds (Prussian Eagle, Austrian Eagle, Spanish Eagle, Russian Eagle), he also chased various palaces (Austrian, Prussian, various palaces in Italy like the Vatican). This quatrain seems to refer to Napoléon when he was at the height of his power. The enemy was pushed across the Rhine River, so nobody directly threatened France itself. And, though I am certain I garbled up the translation of line 4, the French Imperial Eagle was quite successful in holding onto its “tricks,” clenching all its opponents by the throat. Finally, with the exception of a short time, most of Europe considered Napoléon to be an upstart, one who had no right to the throne of France.

Hister refers to Hitler by describing the first 25 years of his life; he lived in various places by the Ister (Danube) River.
This quatrain refers to the final drive against the Third Reich. The beasts of line 1 refers to the armored vehicles that were converging on Hitler and his Germany. In the east, Soviet troops crossed the Oder and drove westward towards Berlin. In the west, British, American and Free French troops crossed the Rhine and drove eastward. Even the Italians in the south had turned against the Fuhrer. The only ones on Hitler’s side were the German forces and they were surrendering in droves.
Hitler stayed on in Berlin, observing nothing. His mind was locked into grandiose schemes that would sweep the enemies back, giving full glory to the German people and to himself in particular. Even towards the end, he was ordering Wenck to perform an amazing counterattack, an act impossible to do under the circumstances, yet it existed in the twisted, unobservant mind of Hitler.
The great one here has to refer to Stalin, whose troops hounded and cut off the Fuhrer in Germany, eventually attacking and capturing the Chancellery where Hitler’s body, or what was left of it, was either found or disappeared.

Almost certainly this has been fulfilled, I just cannot figure out what it is. The rivers listed on line 4 are all within France.

De sâg, feux, mors, noiés de coup de taille.
The key to the quatrain is the accurate translation of Thesin. There is a Ticino River (German name Tessin, Latin name Ticinus), which flows from Switzerland to Italy, so this could be it. The Po is the river of North Italy; this agrees with the Ticino interpretation of Thesin so this sounds like an Italian quatrain.
Le divin verbe sera du ceil frappé,
Qui ne pourra proceder plus avant :
Du reserant le secret estoupé,
Qu’on marchera par dessus & devant.
This quatrain has a definite spiritual flavor, so it obviously has to deal with the Catholic Church which Nostradamus was tied to. According to the quatrain, some discovery will be made, one of such import that it will stop the Catholic Church in its tracks. The secret will be contained, or at least the Catholic Church will try to contain it, and the church will continue to move onward.

This is definitely one of those quatrains that cannot be known until it is fulfilled. That said, a few clues are provided. The penultimate is the next to the last. But which prophet is mentioned? Mohammed? Elijah? Moses? John (the Babtist)? Another? Whichever it is, the person so named takes Monday for his day of rest. Diana is attributed to the Moon or Moon day – Monday. Now, this day of rest could be interpreted two ways. The first is that he takes a periodic day as Monday – making him a false messiah. The second is that he dies on a Monday. Yet whatever the person’s name, he does great good: through great labor he delivers a people from subjugation. Whoever he will be, I salute him for the good he will do.

There is a question about the easterner. Is he also the Persian of Quatrain 96 of this century? Regardless, he crosses Italy to see the Gaulic lands (Northern Italy and France). His rod in line 4 is interesting. It could refer to his scepter, symbol of rule. Other than that, what it really is I have no idea.

Hannibal was the great military leader of Carthage who attack and defeated Rome in many engagements during the Second Punic War. Babel is the reputed tower in Mesopotamia. This sounds very much like the future attack by the Islamite’s against the Italian nation. Whoever the evil one is, he will be worse than Hitler.
